Things You Really Miss When They Are Gone (or Musings in the Key of E)

So my "e" key fell off my laptop today. It had been loose for a couple of months, but I just ignored it. It kept popping off and I'd pop it back in -- "good as new" or so I thought. Then, finally this morning we parted ways. It won't even stay on the keyboard for cosmetic purposes. It refuses to keep up appearances.

Now, there's this square little gap where "e" used to be. But I'm improvising. I found an "e" from something I typed up earlier and have been using the "cut and paste" function to "type" all the "e's" you see here in this post. It's been a slow process to say the least. I guess I could use my ipad, but there are some things I still prefer to use my laptop for and writing is definitely one of them. I guess this means I'll have to get a new laptop. I guess I'll have to say goodbye to two old friends.
